Who we are
This site is operated by D-R-R-E Inc., a California corporation, under the name David Ray Real Estate. Real estate services are provided by David Raygorodsky, DRE 02224136, a salesperson licensed with Real Estate Source, Inc., Broker DRE 01869619, 1024 Iron Point Rd #100, Folsom, CA 95630. We are licensed in California only.
"We" in this policy means D-R-R-E Inc. and the people who work with it: employees, contractors, and licensed team members working under the same brokerage. The site's technology is built and operated on our behalf by Realtai Inc., an affiliated company that acts only on our instructions.
What we collect, depending on how you use the site
Most of the site can be read without telling us anything. The more you use, the more we hold. Here is the full list.
- Visiting. Which pages you open, how far you scroll on articles, clicks on some tool buttons, time on page, your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and a random visitor ID stored in a cookie. Your IP address reaches our analytics provider.
- Newsletter. Your email address, whether you asked for the newsletter or for a call, the page you signed up from, and your browser string.
- Member account. Your name and email from Google sign-in, or a username and password you pick. We store only a scrambled hash of a password, never the password itself. We also keep when you joined and when you last signed in, and, if you tell us, which best describes you (investor, first-time buyer, established buyer or seller, realtor) and the markets you care about.
- Client account. If David Ray invites you to the client workspace: your name, email, the kind of work (investor, buyer, seller), your markets, and his working notes about your search or sale.
- Tools. Deals you save in the analyzers (a name, an address, the numbers you enter, your notes). Addresses you enter in the comps tool and the features you describe. Setup lists you build.
- Deal accounts. For a transaction David Ray is working on, the parties and roles he records (buyer, seller, the vesting entity and who signs for it, lender, escrow, title, attorney, family members observing) and the key dates. If you give us details about someone else, you confirm you are allowed to.
- Activity log. When you are signed in as a client or member, we record which tools and articles you open, deals you save, and reports you open, with the time. David Ray sees this. It is how he knows what to prepare for you. Nobody else sees it.
- Email, calls, and messages to David Ray. Kept in his mailbox and phone like any correspondence.
Where it comes from
- From you, when you type it in, sign up, or send it to us.
- From Google, if you sign in with Google. We receive your name, your email address, and a Google account identifier. We do not receive your photo, your contacts, or your mail, and we do not keep any Google access token.
- From public records and listing data, when you run comps or open a report. To look up a property we send its address to the US Census geocoder, to OpenStreetMap, and to the San Francisco assessor database, and we pull recent sales from Redfin. Listing links point to Zenlist. These sources give us property facts and sale records, not information about you.
How we use it
- To run the tools and keep your saved work where you left it.
- To prepare for work with you: comps, reports, deal timelines, and David Ray's notes.
- To send the newsletter you asked for, and to call or email you when you asked for that.
- To see which articles and tools readers value, so we write more of what helps and less of what does not.
- To keep the site secure and to spot abuse.
- To meet legal duties. California requires brokers to keep transaction records, and our brokerage keeps a file for every transaction.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not combine it with data bought from anyone else.
Who can see it
- David Ray and his team, only as needed to do the work.
- Our brokerage of record, for the transaction files the law requires it to keep.
- Service providers that hold or process data on our instructions: Google Cloud (hosting and database, in the United States), PostHog (analytics, in the United States), Google Workspace and Gmail (email we send), and Realtai Inc. (the site's technology). Each is bound to use the data only to provide its service to us.
- Other licensed agents, when you ask David Ray for a referral and agree to the introduction. We pass along your name, how to reach you, and what you are looking for. Nothing more.
- The parties to your transaction (escrow, title, lender, the other side and their agent) when you are in a deal, as the transaction requires and as you direct.
- Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect someone from harm.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. That has been true since the site launched.
How long we keep it
- Account and tool data: until you delete it or ask us to.
- Client records and deal accounts: for the life of the engagement, and then for at least three years after a transaction closes, which is what California requires brokers to keep.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep the address on a do-not-email list so we never email you again by mistake.
- Activity log: deleted with the account it belongs to.
- Analytics: raw events are held by PostHog under our project settings. When you delete your account we delete the identified profile that goes with it.
Deletion today is by request. Self-serve export and account deletion are being built, and this page will say so when they are live.
Your choices and your rights
- Download. Deal sheets print to PDF from the analyzers. Comparable sales tables download as CSV. Reports shared with you can be saved from the page. Anything in your workspace is yours to take.
- A copy of everything. Email draygo@gmail.com from the address on your account and ask. We send it within 30 days as a file you can open.
- Correct or delete. Same address, same timeline. We may need to keep transaction records the law requires, and we will tell you if that applies.
- Unsubscribe. Every newsletter has a link, or use davidrayrealestate.com/unsubscribe.
- Google sign-in. You can revoke the site's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your account here keeps working with a username and password if you set one.
- Analytics. Block the PostHog cookie in your browser, or ask us and we will exclude your account from analytics.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of any sale or sharing (we do none), and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. You can send a request through someone you authorize. We confirm who you are by writing to the email on your account. We honor these rights for every reader, in every state, whether or not a particular statute applies to a business of our size, and that includes residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and the other states with privacy laws.
Children
The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
How we protect it
Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as scrypt hashes. Session cookies are signed so they cannot be forged. Private links for clients and presentations are tied to you; do not forward them, because anyone holding the link can open what it unlocks. Access to the database is limited to the people who run the site. No system is perfect, and if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Features we are building
We are building tools that draft follow-up emails, connect to your mailbox, and publish to social accounts. None of that is live on this site today, and none of it will touch your data without a separate, specific permission screen. Today, Google sign-in asks only for your name and email. If a future feature asks for more, such as reading or sending mail on your behalf, David Ray Real Estate's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We will update this page before any such feature goes live.
Changes to this policy
This version took effect September 30, 2026. When we change something that matters, we update the date here and, if you have an account, we tell you by email or the next time you sign in.
